Effective January 2025
The City contract with Shoppers Drug Mart for the sale of garbage bag tags ends
on December 31, 2024. However, their stores will continue to sell the tags until
their current inventory is depleted, after which garbage bag tags will no longer be
available for purchase from Toronto Shoppers Drug Mart locations.
Garbage bag tags will continue to be available for purchase at Toronto Canadian
Tire locations and through the City’s Solid Waste Web Store at
toronto.ca/SolidWasteStore.
As a property/business that receives waste collection from the City of Toronto,
you are required to purchase a garbage tag for each bag of garbage set out.
