Anto’s Restaurant

Anto’s Grill is the one of the newest restaurants to open on Kennedy Road – bringing Chef Anto’s Middle Eastern flare to the table. This Mediterranean restaurant focuses on its speciality kebab plates, sandwiches, salads, and hot and cold maza. Taking his Syrian upbringing and culinary experience, Chef Anto’s is showcasing his homegrown roots and expertise within the delicious flavours of his dishes.

If you’re looking for tasty, home-style food, Anto’s Grill is the perfect local place to check out. Each dish carries authentic flavours and quality ingredients that are prepared in-house by Chef Anto’s himself, making the meal extra special. The restaurant also offers larger family-style options that make for an easy weeknight dinner or gathering at an affordable price.

Their signature plates feature a choice of protein from falafel (vegetarian), Sujuk (beef), juicy kebabs Halabi Kebab (ground beef), Shish Taouk (chicken), Adana Kebab (ground beef spicy) and Beef Cubes.  For sides, there is the option between rice or fries, salad, and hummus, or garlic. For an easier lunchtime or on-the-go meal all these plates can be ordered in a sandwich version at your convenience.

The hot and cold maza features a variety of small dishes and plates that work best as small snacks or appetizers – perfect for the foodies out there! A few items from the hot maza menu include Toshka – a delicious Syrian street food made of kebab and cheese-filled pitas. If you’re feeling spicy, Sujuk rolls, are the middle eastern twist on the classic sausage rolls. A spicy meat mixture is spread and rolled into a pita and then baked until perfection.

For cold maza expect to find Yalanji – a vegetarian staple in middle eastern cuisine made of rice-stuffed grape leaves. It’s a true Mediterranean delicacy that’s aromatic with lots of zesty lemon and tomato. There’s also a large variety of dips on the menu such as Moutabel, like Baba Ghanouji, made with roasted or grilled eggplant, tahini, and olive oil. There’s also Muhammara – a hearty walnut and roasted red pepper dip that’s both savory and sweet, with just the right amount of heat.

Lastly, there is no shortage of the beloved hummus at Anto’s but be warned this is not your typical everyday hummus. Hummus Beiruti is a Lebanese version that is made unique with large amounts of garlic enhancing its already delicious flavour.
